Alpaca Centre, meet the alpacas, with tearoom and shopping experience. Visitors can view the alpacas from the edge of their paddock or from the tea room, whilst also enjoying tea or coffee and a slice of home made cake. In the shop and gallery, there is a wide variety of alpaca goods and clothing, paintings, sculptures and wood turnings of exceptional quality on display and for sale.

 

South Tynedale Railway The South Tynedale Railway is the North of England's highest narrow gauge railway winding northwards from its home at Alston in Cumbria for 3½ miles into Northumberland and the current terminus at Lintley Halt, following the route of the former Alston to Haltwhistle branch line which officially closed on 1st May 1976. Take a leisurely ride through the glorious scenery of the North Pennines Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty!

It really does. You’ll fly 200 metres across the top of the Grizedale Beck and marvel at the forest canopy 18 metres up a magnificent Douglas Fir.

Ullswater 'Steamers' create the perfect opportunity to combine a lake cruise with some of the most famous and spectacular walks in the Lake District.

 

Rheged has lots of fun for all the family. A destination for family, food, the outdoors and arts & culture. Housed at Rheged is indoor and outdoor softplay, a Create pottery painting workshop, a programme of quirky children's events every school holiday from family theatre to cookery classes, not to mention the largest 3D cinema screen around. Lowther Castle and Gardens stood untouched for 70 yrs but a  restoration project started in 2011 now means they can be enjoyed again. This castle stands on a site occupied by the Lowther family for over 800 years. Being the third home on the site in that time, the castle was completed in 1806 and a beautiful sculpture gallery with decorative plaster ceiling added in 1814; this is the only remaining room of the castle that has been restored.

Lake District Cottages

Talbot House and Talbot Studio are ideally located for those who wish to walk, fish, cycle or just enjoy. Facilities include a shared terraced garden, with table and chairs and BBQ for those outside evenings. There is a spacious utility room with washing machine and tumble dryer and a secure locked garage for bicycles or a small boat.
